Maki joined PSR-LA in 2021 and now leads and oversees all fundraising, donor relations, and grants management efforts. Prior to joining PSR-LA, Maki worked at corporate financial institutions but was inspired to join the nonprofit sector after interning at the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance and being immersed in the impactful work that nonprofits engage in.

Maki studied biology at  Pomona College and later transferred to the University of California, Irvine, graduating with a B.S. in Public Health Science. She is deeply passionate about addressing the health inequities and disparities in frontline communities. Maki is also fluent in Japanese. Her morkie and cat often make guest appearances on conference calls.
