For the past nine years, Karen Romero Estrada has dedicated herself to social and environmental justice work ranging from land use, wage, and environmental justice campaigns in Orange County and Los Angeles. As the Energy Justice Associate, Karen Romero Estrada joins PSR-LA to push advocacy efforts towards a just energy transition. She focuses on local equitable decarbonization policies and pushing back against false climate solutions by working alongside coalitions and empowering frontline communities.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College, is a recipient of the Public Voices fellowship with the Op-Ed Project, and was a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) scholar at Carnegie Mellon University.
As someone born and raised in Anaheim, she is passionate about uplifting the stories and experiences that are erased by the hegemonic narrative of “the OC,” is an avid foodie, and enjoys expressing herself through personal aesthetic and the beauty reflected in nature.
