Dear Senator (name)

I am writing to express strong opposition to SB 607 (Wiener). This bill would fundamentally erode the California Environmental Quality Act during a time of unprecedented rollback of environmental protections at the federal level. CEQA has protected Californians for more than 50 years. This extreme bill goes too far at a time when we need state-level environmental and community protections the most. We urge you to oppose this dangerous legislation.

Thank you,

Name, City of Residence

Call Script

Hello. My name is ____, and I live in _____. I am calling to urge Senator ____ to oppose SB 607. This bill weakens environmental review requirements and enables agencies to ignore credible scientific evidence on air pollution, water contamination, and climate impacts. Without EIRs, community members will have significantly less information and fewer opportunities to participate in the public engagement process about potentially harmful proposed projects.

I urge you to oppose SB 607 and protect communities from environmental harm.
