As a Climate Justice Associate, Hennessy supports coalition coordination and management of LEAP LA. She is motivated most by the opportunity to work alongside community-based organizations united in the fight for environmental and climate justice.

During her formative years in Houston, Hennessy experienced the extractive and environmental harms caused by the oil industry in her community. Since then, Hennessy has known that she wanted to dedicate her efforts to environmental and justice-centered work, which has led to her current role at PSR-LA.

She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from UCLA and an M.A. in Climate and Society from Columbia University’s Climate School. Prior to joining PSR-LA, Hennessy interned with Earthjustice’s Fossil Fuel team and conducted industry science research on oil companies for the Center on Climate Integrity.

Since moving back to LA, Hennessy is excited to eat at her favorite restaurants in Sawtelle. Outside of work, Hennessy can be found attending dance classes, practicing her headstands, or creating oil pastel art.
