What Would You Like Out of Your PSR-LA Membership?

Ana Mascarenas, Membership Coordinator
Ana Mascareñas, Membership Coordinator

Hi, my name is Ana Mascareñas, and I’m the new, and first, Membership Coordinator for PSR-LA.

I’m excited about the opportunity to work with each and every one of you to build the voice of health professionals and supporters in local and national progressive advocacy and activism.

In my effort to get to know existing members better, it would be helpful if you could take just 3 minutes to complete our membership  survey. The information will be used to update our records and strategize on how to best engage current members, while recruiting the next generation of PSR-LA leaders.

Please note the slight change in membership guidelines on the inside of the donation envelope, and if you haven’t renewed your membership in the past year, you may do so today with the envelope provided!

A little bit about me:  Before joining PSR-LA in April, I served as an advocate in the district office of Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-31) assisting constituents in their claims and applications with federal agencies. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I returned to in 2004 to work with the City Council in helping pass a set of development impact fee ordinances that promote responsible and sustainable growth.

My educational background is in health—I graduated with a BA in Human Biology and a BA in Sociology, and while a student, I worked in Brown University’s Master of Public Health Program and the Population Studies Training Center.  I also spent time as a peer health educator, volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, and guitarist in hospitals.

I’m proud to be the newest member of PSR-LA, and am committed to providing members with the tools and information needed to accomplish PSR-LA’s mission, “To prevent what we cannot cure.”

If you’d like to discuss membership at any time, please feel free to call me at (213) 689-9170, or email me at [email protected]
