Where you live matters. People living adjacent to oil and gas wells are living with the very real possibility of serious health conditions due to exposures from air toxic chemicals that are known to have significant health impacts. And ultimately, once the oil is extracted, refining and burning it causes very real health impacts for everyone.
Oppose SB 4 – Stop Fracking and Protect Our Health
By simply permitting and disclosing oil extraction and chemical use in our communities, California will be facilitating and expanding our fossil fuel status quo. Responsible policy would be to stop this harmful and reckless activity by banning fracking and other non-conventional oil extraction because—from a health perspective–the facts demand it.

Supporting a Fracking Moratorium in California
Yesterday, California’s Assembly heard three bills that called for a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing: AB 649 by Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian, AB 1301 by Assemblyman Richard Bloom, and AB 1323 by Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell. PSR-LA supports all three of these authors and their bills.
