PSR-LA Executive Director Martha Dina Argüello to Receive Black Women for Wellness Award

PSR-LA is proud to announce that Executive Director Martha Dina Argüello will receive the “Wangari Muta Maathai” Award from Black Women for Wellness on March 8th. The award is named after Wangari Muta Maathai, an extraordinary woman dedicated to democracy, human rights, and environmental justice in her native Kenya.

Argüello was selected for the award in recognition of her service and leadership in environmental health justice and in advocating on behalf of women’s issues in California.

The Wangari Muta Maathai award will be presented to Argüello on March 8th, International Women’s Day, at Black Women for Wellness’ annual Food and Wine Tasting and Awards Ceremony from 5 – 8 pm at the Los Angeles Turner Center. Black Women for Wellness is dedicated to addressing health disparities and building the health and wellness of black women and girls through education, empowerment, and advocacy.
