What:  An invitation to all physicians and healthcare professionals and advocates to attend a free screening of The Healthcare Movie.  As all who are in medicine know, healthcare—its quality and cost—are a major problem for our country.  All physicians with a social conscience and sensibility should see this provocative movie.

About the Movie:  This 65-minute documentary tells the real story of how the health care system in Canada turned out to be so completely different from that in the United States, given that at one point they were essentially the same:

  • How it originated
  • How it works for ordinary Canadians
  • How it is paid for
  • How it compares to its American counterpart
After the movie: Explore questions about the healthcare systems in Canada and California with our panelists, Dr. Paul Song, a board certified radiation oncologist, and Dr. Matt Hendrickson, an emergency room physician. Both are active community members and board members of Physicians for a National Health Program California and both reside in Santa Monica.

California Health Professional Student Alliance (CaHPSA), Health Care for All (HCA Ca), Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) and Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP).
