October 21 — Green Chemistry Webinar by the Breast Cancer Fund
Oct 1, 2010
Our partners at Breast Cancer Fund are hosting an informative webinar on California’s Green Chemistry Initiative, and have invited PSR-LA supporters to join!
California has embarked on a groundbreaking program to eliminate toxic chemicals from our every day consumer products. Many of these chemicals are linked to breast cancer and other life-threatening diseases. However, this program is in jeopardy due to enormous pressure from the chemical industry.
This webinar explores the science behind exposure to toxic chemicals and diseases like breast cancer and will provide meaningful opportunities to ensure that California’s Green Chemistry Initiative truly protects public health.
The webinar covers: Breast cancer incidence, basic breast biology, and new science linking environmental exposures to breast cancer.
Key themes: Timing of exposure, low dose exposures, mixtures, interactions, and vulnerable populations
Tips: Personal changes for prevention
Policy recommendations: Big picture changes for prevention
Engaging others: Ways to grow the movement
This webinar was developed for California residents.
