LA Health and Climate Symposium: Advancing Healthy and Resilient Communities In A Changing Environment
Climate change has the potential to cause widespread injuries and death related to natural disasters, displacement, heat-related illnesses, malnutrition, and air and water pollution. PSR-LA co-organized a symposium on April 30th, 2010 titled, Los Angeles Health and Climate: Advancing healthy and resilient communities in a changing environment.

UCLA’s Institute of the Environment Chair, Glen MacDonald, will explore what scientifically known and what is predicted regarding increases in greenhouse gases and associated climate change. Drought and impacted communities in Southern California will be discussed.

At this time of international tension, climate change and war, Helen is educating people about the dangers of global warming and nuclear power. Despite the nuclear industry’s propaganda to the contrary, nuclear power is NOT the answer to global warming. And, needless to say, we must reinstate nuclear treaties, stop the proliferation of deadly nuclear weapons and work for world peace. Helen is also committed to helping us propel the progressive agenda, to help steer the Obama administration in our direction.
