CA Senate Fails to Pass Bill That Would Protect Infants and Toddlers From Bisphenol-A (BPA)

Just after midnight on September 1, the California Senate failed to pass a bill to eliminate Bisphenol-A (BPA) from food and drink containers for children ages 3 and younger. Senator Fran Pavley (D-Santa Monica) carried the legislation with advocate sponsors Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles, Breast Cancer Fund, and Environmental Working Group.

CA Assembly Votes to Remove BPA from Infant Food and Drink Containers

Today the California State Assembly passed a bill to eliminate Bisphenol-A (BPA) from food and drink containers designed for children ages 3 and younger. A coalition of health professionals, scientists, parents, and health advocates, supported this measure and herald its passage as a major step in protecting children’s health and advancing chemical policy reform.
