Are We Facing a Nuclear Disaster? Join Us at Interfaith Luncheon August 24
Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace will host a luncheon conference entitled “Are we facing a nuclear disaster?” on Thursday, August 24, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 500 East Colorado Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101.
- PSR-LA Board President Dr. Robert Dodge, who was present in New York last month at the United Nations deliberations which resulted in an historic treaty to ban the use of nuclear weapons worldwide.
- U.S. Representative Judy Chu (CA-27). Rep. Chu is one of forty co-sponsors of H.R.669 – Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act of 2017, introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Ted Lieu (CA-33).
- Reverend Haruyoshi Fujimoto, a survivor of the August 6, 1945 Hiroshima bombing and minister of peace, dedicating his life to forgiveness and reconciliation.
